If you have antiX-M7.5 and later then you can post the output of
inxi -F.
Is anyone runing antiX on really old specs (relatively speaking of course) like 128MB RAM or less and less than 500Mhz CPU?
I have a Dell laptop that runs antiX-M8 with 500Mhz CPU and 384MB RAM. antiX runs very well on it, though opening lots of apps at the same time cause it to strain a bit.

I'm preventing myself of giving an opinion if antiX is light enough or not because, while this is far from being a super machine (Celeron 2.53 GHz + 768 MB RAM), it's more than enough to run antiX pretty fast.

I'm running M7.5, but can't get the command inxi -F to work, but anyway, just running a plain-jane vanilla workstation box with an Intel board, i810 chipset, integrated grafix & sound, PIII 800 mhz cpu, 384 mb ram, 20 gig ide hdd. I'm also using an Airlink (Texas Instruments) pci wireless card. Works beautifully, except for graphics-intensive apps & websites - YouTube is ok, but a bit choppy. My low ram & weak video setup is mostly to blame there, I think.
btw, I gave M8 a spin, works great except for whatever reason, the wireless card has trouble connecting consistently. But I'm a happy camper with 7.5 __{{emoticon}}__

This computer is a Dell Latitude D600 -
output of inxi -F:
end output ---
antiX M8 is the first (and only, so far) distro I've tried that successfully configured the Broadcom BCM 4306 wireless OOTB on this old Dell lappy! And the main reason it's still on here (plus I like antiX (the OS ... not sure about the person __{{emoticon}}__ ) and Fluxbox).
I do have an old box (BIOS is dated 1998) with AMD K6 @ 150 MHz, 198 MB RAM at school that did run antiX 6.5 for a long time (never installed to HD because it didn't have a HD at the time (lol)). When I get to school tomorrow I'll check its inxi -F if peeps are interested in the output. That box currently runs DSL (w/ kernel 2.4.30), but only because the small 800 MB HD I threw in it is too small to install Spartacus.

My little playpen - very old Thinkpad 600X. On boot into runlevel 2 with my custom kernel (built the easy way with kernelcheck) I'm using only about 19MB (was ~23MB with MEPIS kernel). I just use:
$ . startx > /dev/null 2>&1
And I'm still using under 30 MB with full fluxbox and conky. After opening several xterm and ssh sessions and firefox with 30+ tabs and email and emacs I'm still using less than 200MB. Firefox and xorg continued bloat slowly consumes more ram, but I'm always fiddling with something too so maybe it's just history and caching.
This box started antiX life with 6.5, then 7, then the shell-script upgrade to 7.2. Now I'm just using the repos __{{emoticon}}__
I have a 650MHz CPU card on the way - can't wait to see if it will work...
Thanks anti for all your work.

Sincere compliments on a job well done--from an ibm scsi machine that nothing even boots anymore (doesn't include modules or doesn't probe if it includes the modules)
shutting off dma was all it took; this is my first look at any antix and it's very very impressive.
thanks!
