@eugene-b - I believe, you, because I just tried it on a similar netbook and using the F2 menu to select German for the system language. the console font issue vanished!

@eugene-b, it's not that I don't believe you, the problem is that I often don't understand you. Anyway, with d_o's help, I think I've got it all fixed now.

I've been tinkering with antix 17-b3-full about a month now. Really love it! 1% CPU usage at idle. 546 Mb memory use. Great job, you guys. But I keep running across one problem that I can't wrap my head around. And due to a recent fire (minor localized to one computer area), I lost all my notes I had been keeping since AntiX 13.
My MSI S6000 has MX-16, Antix 16.2, and AntiX 17 loaded on it. I don't have the problem with MX-16 nor Antix 16.2. Just with 17-b3. And the only thing I can think of is to downgrade the kernel. Sorry! I am unable to get my usb ports to charge my cell phone. At first I thought the cable had died. NOPE! Cable works with Win, MX, antix 16.2, and wall wart. Possibly usb port itself had died. NOPE! Works with my other distros.
I'm missing something and I can't figure it out.
EDIT: Posted the wrong inxi -F file at first. This is the correct one.

~~~~~ except for the line mentioning jdmeaux1952, I'm posting this as a suggested addition to the antiX docs // MX wiki ~~~~~
Unlike prior releases, antiX17 ships with"tlp" package pre-installed.
jdmeaux1952, you might resolve the will-not-charge issue by changing the default tlp settings.
Save battery power on laptops
TLP is an advanced power management tool for Linux. It comes with a default configuration already optimized for battery life. At the same time it is highly customizable to fulfil specific user requirements.
TLP supplies separate settings profiles for AC and battery power and can enable or disable bluetooth, WiFi and WWAN radio devices upon system startup.
For ThinkPads it provides a unified way to configure charging thresholds and recalibrate the battery for all models which support it (via tp-smapi or acpi-call).
TLP is a pure command line tool with automated background tasks, it does not contain a GUI.
diagnose issues with power consumption and management
PowerTOP is a Linux tool to diagnose issues with power consumption and power management. In addition to being a diagnostic tool, PowerTOP also has an interactive mode you can use to experiment with various power management settings, for cases where the Linux distribution has not enabled those settings.
PowerTOP reports which components in the system are most likely to blame for higher-than-needed power consumption, ranging from software applications to active components in the system. Detailed screens are available for CPU C and P states, device activity, and software activity.
My new problem with DNS.
After upgrade I have problem with DNS
I try put nameservers in /etc/resolvconf/resolv.conf.d/base, but system ignore it.
I try static domain_name_servers=1.2.3.4 in /etc/resolv.conf, but system erase it.
I no try nohook resolv.conf, because I do not like it :)
@bedna, if I understand you correctly, on the live system you could try the cheat"xorg=1600x1200" and see if that works for you.
Are both monitor inputs connected to the computer? If so, that seems more like a misconfiguration than a bug in nouveau. How would it know the two connections are going to the same monitor?
I connected monitor only with one connector, but Nouveau probably return information about all two connectors (with Nouveau I see two monitors in one :) )
I can solve it by manual settings, but I still need NVidia CUDA and NVidia driver work OK.
Hi BitJam, I solved this with install NVidia driver.BitJam wrote: @bedna, if I understand you correctly, on the live system you could try the cheat"xorg=1600x1200" and see if that works for you.
Thanks for the info! I'm glad you got it to work. It does sound like the nouveau driver is broken. What graphics hardware do you have?
