I though it was a typo that caused the desktop icon not to appear correctly, but it was not.
But i can live with the, run gear icon.

I'm using LMMS as a midi editor, But i have an issue.
For the life of me, I can not remember playing the music this fast.

Made some corrections with LMMS, and my midi in question
Now it sounds close to what was played.

I'm think about making another 64 bit version of music
Using ' linux-image-rt-686-pae" in hopes to cut the latency between the usb instruments, and software writes.
What I have now is not that bad, but it can be better.
Anyone with thoughts, or Ideas,.are welcomed.

I just finished an experiment to see how far i can push my sound processing power without distortion.
I have found i can not go above 15 instruments playing at the same time at 85% volume.
The crescendo of this music is 17 instruments at 85% volume.

Someone said to me, that my piano music sounded too automated, with no dynamics.
So I stopped doing it the easy way, with aconnect, and nted.
Now i'm going to be using lmms, with jack more often. Setup correctly it follows the controls of the musical keyboard.
Piano music done with lmms, and jack.

A great mind is something to get terribly wasted. Or something like that. That was great, eino.

Back in the day, my Casio CZ-1000 did not and, yeah, a voice like bright piano seemed"too automated" (too precise?) unless I softened its attack.
tweaked the ogg in Audacity:
normalize to -3.2dB and further -1.8dB soften the louder passages, tempo -4%, echo: 0.08delay 0.36falloff
It's a keeper -- thanks for sharing.
The keyboard used, does it have"velocity sensing" input?Piano music done with lmms, and jack

I just did some music out of my comfort zone. This pushed my processor to it's limits, but it was fun doing it anyway. The song comes from the Broadway play"Grease"

@eino I have a friend from church who teaches music composition at the local university. He LOVES what you have done. I set up his laptop with your respin. He actually compared you to Glenn Miller for the way you make things work together.

Let me know if he has trouble setting anything up, lmms took some study just to get the controls to follow the musical keyboard, and I'm learning new stuff about lmms every day.
BTW the musical scores are written, so I know what instrument comes in, and when. So I can't take the credit, on full arrangements.
A geeky musician maybe, but I'm not a Glenn Miller.jdmeaux1952 wrote:@eino I have a friend from church who teaches music composition at the local university. He LOVES what you have done. This is a little trick for imitating, a string instrument like a guitar, or banjo, with a keyboard.
Set the velocity control to a low setting so it dose not change the volume much at all.
Then set the touch control so you can tap the keys lightly and play the notes, with little effort.
It helps with the speed of the notes you play, giving a more realistic sound.

I just tried out KX-Studio, as a desktop. It was too bloated with no more than eye candy,
and too Ubuntu like for me.
It was too overloaded with, stuff I don't really need to produce music.
So for now, I'm sticking with LMMS, and NTED. Until I find something that is light weigh and fits the needs.
I'm still trying different things, and gathering ideas.
