anti, now that you replaced the slim configuration option in the Control Center for the auto-login app I would like to suggest for you to add /etc/slim.conf among the files that are opened with CC>System>Config Files.

Still looking VERY GOOD from my perspective. I've tried the prefinal updates on my two systems and it works well on both of them; one previously installed as a"full" system, the other installed as a"base" system, both upgraded through multiple test cycles. All past issues with CPU cycles being consumed by the X server, at least for me, are long past and everything else of interest to me is working great. Still a thumbs up after the latest antiX and Squeeze distro updates over the weekend.

I have a problem. I just did a dist-upgrade and now my system is hosed... I was running a prefinal final, then did aptitude update, then aptitude dist-upgrade. There were 45 packages for upgrade with a bunch of dependency resolutions. I went ahead now IceWM is screwed and almost all my apps are gone. I'm posting from fluxbox and dillo. The only thing working right now.

Had to reinstall from my live usb (rc3). Ran upgrade thru smxi and everything is back in order. I have to reinstall some apps, but my system is current now. I think I had a repo enabled that screwed things up...

anti, I found a typo in the Brazilian version of tidesktool:
- in line 432 'dekstop' must be 'desktop'

Thanks.

anti, I have a fix for tidesktool.
I was observing that the mouse hover tip didn't work, then I checked tidesktool and noted that this feature's variable didn't match with idesk's wiki (
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://idesk.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Idesk-usage"
linktext was:"http://idesk.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Idesk-usage"

). So I fixed tidesktool and now it works.
You must replace

Code: Select all

CaptionTip
for

Code: Select all

ToolTip.Caption
matching the case and in all occurrences.

In pt_BR's version of tidesktool these are in lines 56, 57, 199, 201and 277.

I believe it was a repo to get eee-tray and eee-control working on my netbook. The tutorial was originally on ubuntugeek.com and that may be the cause of it. I couldn't get the debs to install correctly, so my fault for not disabling that repo.

ok... did an update today because I was going to install KDE-lite and see how it plays with my antiX setup. Here is my sources.list (should be default based on rc3 upgraded to prefinal):
# Note:If you want maximum stability, only use the stable repos.
# If you want to install kde3.5, you MUST only use the stable repos.

# Mepis 8 series. Only use for kernel upgrades.

used smxi to do the update. Everything looked Ok, but now I cannot access the Applications submenu under the IceWM menu (see attached)

any help or ideas would be appreciated! I tried restarting IceWM with no luck... I am able to access the application submenu in fluxbox.

It's probably some package missing. Try the package"menu"

I cannot access the Applications submenu
Same stuff happened to me when I borked AntiX 8.2 screwing with smxi and I installed AntiX 8.5 rc3 because I broke 8.2 real good. I kept my /home from 8.2 and just installed 8.5 to root partition only.

Anyhows nats007. I fixed it by booting up live cd and added submenu file from it. I just can't remember right now where for sure but look in ..icewm folder and see if a text file that says programs is in there. If it is missing. First try and see if /etc/X11/icewm folder has a text file called programs. If there look inside and see if all Application entries are there. If missing also. Boot up live pendrive. Gram the programs text file from /etc/X11/icewm and copy and paste from live cd into ./icewm folder and /etc/X11/icewm folder also. That fixed it for me anyhows. Happy Trails, Rok

P.S. I just put in a bid on Ebay for a Mini Case: ASUS Micro Box
Motherboard: ASUS (Unsure of exact model)
Processor: AMD Athlon 64 X2 4200+ 2.2GHz
RAM: 2GB Corsair XMS2
HDD: ~300GB (270GB use-able with fresh Ubuntu install)
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 7900GS
PSU: Antec 350W
Optical: DVD-R/W
OS: Ubuntu 9.10
Ha. Offer was just accepted. I am getting a New Motorcycle shop Desktop. WoooHooo

antiX 8.5 uses a different menu approach teresaejunior and rokytnji. It doesn't use Debian's menu anymore.
nats, your 'Applications' line should be

Code: Select all

menufile"Applications" /usr/share/icons/gTangish-2.0a1/32x32/apps/blam.png application
in line 25 (I think) of ~/.icewm/menu.
After you add it, run (Super key + Space bar)

Code: Select all

icewm_menu2.sh
