For now, set up partitions before installing with gparted.
Good catch!chrispop99 wrote:Downloaded and MD5 checked.

RC1 will be replaced since sfdisk is broken (needed for installing Auto-install option in the installer)
I'll upload RC1.1 and when that is ready, I'll delete RC1.
install
Sorry about that. - You can still install using RC1, just set up the partitions before hand and then use custom

Installed OK with pre-arranged partitions to ancient Thinkpad T23.
All machine functions checked - volume buttons, trackpad all OK.
Used meta-installer to install abiword/gnumeric OK.
Test document files all opened in suitable applications.
Test videos played (although not all smoothly, as would be expected on this laptop!)
Common graphic files all opened in feh rather than Mirage. (Is this by design?)
Will download RC1.1 later and test.

@Chris, inxi says you have a Savage video card but the vesa driver is being used. What happens when you use (type in) the xorg=savage boot parameter on the live system?
Does X still start? Does inxi say the savage video driver is being used? Does video performance improve?
Does the file /var/log/live/live-init.log contain a line like:?
I'm not sure if you expected videos to be smooth or not.

When using the 'xorg=savage' parameter, it boots to a black screen with a frozen pointer. It's not possible to ctrl-alt-F1 to a console.
I would not expect video to be great on a machine of this age!
Chris
Thanks for the suggestion; I've played around a bit with trying to improve the graphics on this machine before without much success. It's not a problem as I only use it for testing lighter distros.BitJam wrote:@Chris, inxi says you have a Savage video card but the vesa driver is being used. livestreamer is in debian repo.
streamlight is a script written by SamK.

I don't think the equalizer is configured correctly. It doesn't seem to be doing anything.
