Thought I'd give the latest a run at the 11th hour. But sadly I'm not having a lot of fun.
The system info util is not providing info on battery or sensors. Not helpful for the laptop user. Why no battery indicator on the desktop or at least via menus? Other distros, eg Puppy do provide info via hardinfo which I think is the sysinfo in question.
Don't seem able to mount the ntfs drive in this machine. Mountbox fizzes out when trying.
Mounting /media/sda1
Unprivileged user can not mount NTFS block devices using the external FUSE
library. Either mount the volume as root, or rebuild NTFS-3G with integrated
FUSE support and make it setuid root. Please see more information at

There was one error.
Just a quick note at this stage as I need to verify that I got a good iso from sourceforge via aarnet in Oz, but I seem to be getting some ugly issues around booting on several laptops. So far I have booted on this machine, the Toshiba below, and a ThinkPad R51.

gnomic - conky doesn't show battery nor temperatures as (from what I gather) laptops do not all show it the same way and also desktop users don't need it in conky.
The .conkyrc does have some options for users to add.
try booting or enabling the etc/udev/rules.d/99usbstorage for ntfs

Hmmm. The plot sickens. Er, thickens. Checked md5sum on the iso image I burned OK.
To date I have booted on two laptops and failed on ThinkPads R40, Z60m, T23, and a Dell 610 Latitude.
'Missing parameter in config file. Keyword: APPEND.'
On one system also got the following after expelling the CD by pressing the eject button on the drive and hitting ENTER. The CD ejects, not sure what this means about system status at that point.
'Loading bootlogo
EDD: Error 3100 reading sector 357693
ditto but sector 353742
bootlogo: invalid file format
Error setting up gfxboot'
Google is not being my friend on this one. Any thoughts?

'Missing parameter in config file. Keyword: APPEND.'
I get as well, but the cd boots. have you tried pressing Enter?

gnomic - I have fixed the 'Missing parameter in config file. Keyword: APPEND.' issue (I hope, at least I don't get the message anymore). Now if this solves the issue with the 3 that failed to boot, I don't know.
if you want to test, you'll need another cd to burn to and the original iso you downloaded. I'll upload the patch, you apply it to the rc2.iso and then burn the resultant file to cd.
Let me know if you wish to try this out.

Downloaded rc2 base, and used unetbootin to load it on a USB stick. First attempt to boot on Asus 1001p eeepc netbook looked good until X, which stayed black. Booted again and tried the nouveau option, voila! In fairness, the desktop took a moment to resolve the second time; perhaps if I was more patient the first time, the black screen would have been temporary.
Anyway, beautiful wallpaper and theme! Had no time to play; but will do so soon. Looking forward to the newest antiX! Kudos and thank yous to everyone who has put in all the hard work.

Can I reuse the old save file for antix from March 2012
Ooops maybe I had that one on another computer.
I will try to follow the instruction on the other thread.
Edit I am booted frugally in AntiX now the latest iso
downloaded from DistroWatch.
I had to change the boot code. I used this one.
But should have used the one below saying old.
only difference is the noxorg and the bdir=antiX not used in that one
and that worked. Now it did allow me to use the sda2. Unless it is related
to if one try to open the sda2 using iceweasel? I have to test and get back.
Edit no it did not help. One can not open sda2 from browser but one
can do the opposite opening the browser with the html file on sda2.
What does this mean? I guess it means that browser being owned by demo
is more protected or something?
May I ask again. Can I reuse the old homefs file?

Anti thanks for fast answer but ...
I thought so too but I am reusing it now and it show my own wall paper
and it loaed my local homepage from sda2 but it does not allow me
to mount sda2 because it is already in use.
I guess that I am not intelligent enough to use AntiX. I have to give up on it.

Don't give up.
Glad that I was wrong and you can in fact use homefs.
To get to your files on sda2, do not mount via the media folder.
Instead go to /live/boot-dev (no need to mount) and they should be in there somewhere.

Running Live usb just made of AntiX Full.
This is just first boot since pen drive was made. Checked full screen flash at youtube on my big lcd screen before this post. No problems.
Comedy of errors for me to but all fault is on my end. Not sure yet if my dvdrw drive is going bad or cd medium I bought (memorix at walmart) is at fault yet for burning 3 coasters for my older Laptops.
I will be unavailable this weekend. I have a wedding to go to.

RC 2 works fine for me, as expected, when running live on my Gateway 2000 PA6A 17" portable, where I typically have antiX core and either Base or Full installed. I have Core and Base installed there already, so here's a live snapshot of RC 2 running:

I also installed rc2 after running it live; no surprise, it works fine!
