Along with AntiX as the obvious #1 answer __{{emoticon}}__ , what is/are currently your favorite distro(s) without systemd?

I ask this question because I'm finally notice that AntiX is the only debian-based distro available without systemd. All of the other distros without systemd are either based on Stackware or RedHat/Fedora. Even before the systemd fallout, I've never used or tested out a distro unless it was debian-based. Shame on me for not being an advance Linux user yet! __{{emoticon}}__

AntiX, as you say.
MX is the obvious next best.
Then there is/will be Devuan of course, it runs but isn't quite there yet for ordinary people.

Edit: Check out this link.

AntiX, then Slackel, Then Puppy.

Slitaz Is OK but I struggle with cooking versions. I have a couple of GhostBSD Dvds on the rack and a DragonflyBSD on the rack with the new
Hammer file system. They tweaked my interest with the word"pragmatic" describing their developer goals. I am a pragmatic all around type of dude that does not do things because"that is they way it has been here forever and that is the way it is going to stay".

pasting my notes regarding debian-based"distros" which have a current (2015) release and AFAIK exclude systemd.
Really don't intend to single out a"fave"; I'll just mention the ordering reflects most-to-least interesting to me, currently.

Puppy is my favorite, because that's what I teethed on, and now everything else seems strange. Then antiX/MX, and then Bodhi. There are probably others in my stable, but I was blithely unaware of the systemd issue until recently.

eric, can you point me to a shortlist of puppy variants which include the gslapt package manager?

Hey, skidoo, Slacko is the main Slackware Puppy distro, and there's a brandy new one out. LXPup is a mix with Ubunto Precise. Simplicity is a media-oriented reworking of LX. 01micko is the developer name that comes to mind. slapt-get is not something I've used, but I would bet Slacko has a full command-line stable. gslapt might need to be downloaded. For Puppy, install-able download packages have a .PET extension. There is also a modular .SFS alternative. Puppy comes with a basic graphic Package Manager. Slacko also has SlickPet, which is a varient of the newer QuickPet. At least I think so. I've played with Slacko, and I use Simplicity for Netflix, but I'm more on the Ubuntu side of Puppy.

Manjaro has several OpenRC editions:
- Xfce+Openbox
- Net (OpenRC version)
- Fluxbox
- i3
- LXQt minimal
- KDE minimal
Some of them are a bit difficult to find, but I wont give here links since it is an antiX forum.
I've installed Fluxbox and LXQt minimal not so long ago (a month or so). They run well. They are not as lightweight as antiX, take 200MB at least. I won't claim to understand everything, but they have a good guide on OpenRC in their Wiki.

eugen, FWIW, I've never been scolded for posting links,
even links to commercial distros (e.g. various firewall distros, like clearOS)

Only, because you are asking, skidoo- And I also always mention antiX and MX when asked for distro suggestions on Manajro forum. The latest torrent links for 15.12 edition (posted them today over there, so don't need to search):
i3 OpenRC:

Fluxbox:

Xfce+OpenBox:

url was:"http://sourceforge.net/projects/manjaro-openrc/files/15.12/xfce+ob/"

====================================

Net:

linktext was:"http://sourceforge.net/projects/manjaro ... 15.12/net/"

LXQt and KDE minimal OpenRC don't have a torrent, the stable version is a bit outdated (artoo a.k.a. udeved the dev has limited ressources):

========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://sourceforge.net/projects/manjaro-lxqt-openrc/files/manjaro-15.09/"
linktext was:"http://sourceforge.net/projects/manjaro ... aro-15.09/"
====================================

But he released a current LXQt minimal from testing branch:

linktext was:"http://sourceforge.net/projects/manjaro ... mal/15.12/"

What is missing on without-systemd.org is that oberon started to create ISOs of both kinds systemd and OpenRC, there are Fluxbox and i3. (He is trying to get Deepin DE run on OpenRC, too. But that doesn't work yet.)

I use Debian Sid (with systemd) and antiX 15, MX-14 and MX-15 with sysinitd, and I also have versions of antiX with systemd.

All of them work. The freedom of choice to use all of them is great! __{{emoticon}}__
