still refracta, but antix/mx really does come highly recommended to me.
i opened it in qemu and somehow i instantly ended up on the desktop... so far it isnt just sleek, its aerodynamic.

Devuan, & its derivatives, are a good place to look, if AntiX isn't holding your attention any more. __{{emoticon}}__

actually i thought id look at antix just because its something to do, it comes highly recommended, and i know some of the people here.
at the moment im running devuan and antix 16.2 on the same computer at the same time. (i took the screencap and posted it from within antix though.)
one thing i havent tried is the installer. but iso/antiX/linuxfs is the squashfs, vmlinuz and initrd.gz are in the same folder, i bet you a"frugal" install works just fine. ive done that with devuan.

Yep, frugal will work, but you have to mainly do it yourself, I think, but there are all the persistence options to play with, & then remastering, but it's a little bit different from memory, so be sure to check the docs. Have fun.
