I put : autoinstall on entire disk
And it says : failed to install required partitions.
Must I fill"leave free space up to" ?

If the drive is 10gb then I would make / 3gb, /home most of what is left. It would depend on how much ram you have. With say 256mb I would make /swap .5gb. This should give you plenty of room. Another option is to just make a / and /swap partition and place /home inside /. This is haw my laptop is set up and it works fine.

It seems to me there's something in your hd. If you just want to let antiX have your whole disk, first 'Run Gparted'. In principle you should set two partitions (if you find easier just delete them all you have and then create the two). One, of 512 MB, you select as 'linux swap' (tell us how much RAM you have so we may change this amount), the other (the rest of the disk) you choose to be '/' (root) (you'll see those options). When Gparted is finished you go back and do the custom install.
Here's a tutorial:
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php/Mepis_8_Install"
linktext was:"http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php/Mepis_8_Install"
====================================
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false
Pierre, don't go with the 'Auto-install' method. Rather go with the 'Custom install'.Pierre771 wrote:I did :"rearrange disks partitions (optional)"
It suggest to me (9.36 available) :
dev/hda1 EXT3 9.04 used 2.85 unused 6.18
Dev/hda2 extended 329.46
Dev/hda2 Linux-swap 329.43
Is it good or do I modify anything ?

Sleep with the angels!
If I'm not mistaken, you already have a 329 MB swap partition. You check it when you run Gparted. If it is so, then you may leave like that. The rest of the disk you may format with 'ext3' in one whole partition (easy way) or in two partitions, one of ~3 GB and the other of ~6 GB (see below the explanation).
Then when you enter the 'Custom Install' it will see your partitions. If you have just one + swap then it'll be '/' (root). If you decided to make two partitions + swap then the 3 GB one will be '/' (root) and the 6 GB one will be '/home'.
I think the two partition + swap arrangement lets you do a reinstall if needed without loosing you program configuration. But I'm not sure if it's worth (someone else may have a good reason for supporting it). Yet the one partition + swap arrangement is the choice for simplicity of use.
Also if you can, upgrade your RAM (even 64 MB more will make a difference). If you think you're gonna stick with 128 MB I recommend to you the base version of antiX. As I posted above, it is very easy to install Synaptic and then anything else.
Regards.

Thanks and Good morning everybody
According to your suggest I am trying to install the basic (8) version. It's very different.
A detail : I clicked on bottom left, it developed a menu, I can't withdraw it...
I started"meta installation"
At the moment I have :"install additional metapackages" with a tab :"metapackages" and another tab :"non-free souces"
I don't have the definition of all the additional packages : what should I select ?
If I select one or several of them, how does it get them ? Must I be connected ? How ?
Thanks !

Pierre:
Meta-install is an option to install other applications (such as other window managers, open-office etc.). It is not an option for installing Antix.
Best regards,
Pedro

I'll be happy to help, but I don't have much experience with the base version.
I think that it comes with fluxbox as the default window manager. If this is the case, then right click on the mouse to get a menu, and"Install" should be one of the options.
I'm sure that others with more experience with the base system will be able to help you too.
Good luck!
Pedro

I have a new problem : Installation was completed ans now I am trying to reboot on the harddrive. After the Bios... nothing, black screen.
There is the time, too : Now, in Paris, it's 10PM. Bios time is 11PM and Antix time too. But we can see it later...
Thanks !
