RC1 live session, persist_root:
I just noticed a".config" directory pathed directly under /
containing a symlink (dateModified Jun15, owned by root) /.config/pulse/antix1-runtime (pointing to"/tmp/pulse-PKdhtXMmr18n")
and a"cookie" file (dateModified jun15, owned by root) /.config/pulse/cookie
AFAIK, an unclean shutdown has never occurred
and no root-permissioned browser (nor any other sound/music app) launch has occurred
"/tmp/pulse-PKdhtXMmr18n/" dir does exist, bearing a dateModified of Jun21
(apparently it is being recreated during each boot)

I didn't test every combo, but tried antiX-1 and Tango in both the icemenu script and the fluxmenu script
Each case led to a"No such file or directory" dead-end.
These scripts are leftovers, or are otherwise unneeded, so they are ripe for removal.
I stumbled into 'em by randomly selecting"change-fluxbox-theme" while testing the"add an item to Personal menu" feature.

vim.tiny is discoverable via the desktop menu.
Please preconfigure spacefm"root's default editor" to something other than vim.tiny
(I'm also hoping vim.tiny will not be pre-assigned elsewhere, due to the preconfigured"preferred applications" or xdg-desktop-defaults)
urxvt is absent from desktop menu
and, although it's installed, the only launcher I found for it is one which may have been added during
my install of xfce4-terminal and xfce-taskmanager packages earlier this session.
/usr/share/xfce4/helpers/urxvt.desktop
ah, I did find
/usr/share/applications/rxvt-unicode.desktop
but that doesn't match"urxvt" which is preconfigured as"default terminal emulator" in the rox-filer config
(user intending to manually add urxvt to desktop menu probably won't recognize the association).
IMO, it should appear in the accessories submenu of desktop menu. Sadly, rxvt-unicode.desktop states 'SystemTools'

This post contains my testing feedback regarding the new feature involving nostore and dostore cheatcodes.
I nearly reported this behavior as a bug:
live session, policy set to no automounting, right-click to /dev/sdb1 issue mount command in spacefm
~~ one does NOT expect a result such that the newly-created right-pane shows a single item, named"LiveUSB-Storage".
The one-liner"documentation" provided in bootmenu F1 ...that's not sufficient, considering that the bootmenu
presents user with an overwhelming myriad of terms: persist_root, frugal_toot, nomodeset, flabberdabberwhatnot.
I'm thankful (er, relieved) to note that a cheatcode exists to suppress the fandangled fstab diversion,
and (but) believe the chosen default behavior is ill-advised; it invites user confusion/frustration.
Someone asked for this, asked to have this feature added?
Okay, so make it an"advanced usage" thing, requiring manual insertion of dostore into the bootline.
(In other words, don't even bother displaying nostore/dostore options in the dropdown menu.)

Firstly, thanks for all the feedback skidoo
Just because the boot option exists doesn't mean you have to use it ie nostore/dostore
Sure the documentation can be improved and it is being worked on.
Re others -
vim.tiny - It is NOT set as spacefm default root editor, leafpad is
urxvt appears in SystemTools, just like other terminals I installed eg xterm, lilyterm, roxterm
change-wm-themes are not exactly leftovers since removing them caused some issues with the Update Menu (IIRC). They do need fixing as you say. I'll take a look at fixing this.
re pulse leftovers - welcome to Poettering's interference. Final should be able to work without pulseausio installed

change-wm-themes will be removed for final. If you use RC1 and want thme removed do
apt-get purge menu-icewm-antix menu-jwm-antix menu-ifluxbox-antix
If lxmenu-data gets removed, just re-install it

Although vim.tiny is not mentioned in /etc/skel/.config/spacefm/session
that's what is being treated as default 'open' handler for mimetype=text/* files during 'sudo spacefm' usage.
Prior to my earlier post, I did check cc--}"Preferred Applications", and noticed that geany is already slotted as the default.
Perhaps vim.tiny is being installed last (er, late) during the Build-iso operation, and its pre- or post-install hook
is triggering xdg-update-desktop-alternatives(?) last, causing it to be treated as the default 'open' handler for mimetype=text/* files?

This newly-introduced, and potentially confusing/frustrating behavior of preventing liveboot user from accessing rootdir of sdb1
is being applied by default, in the absence of cheatcodes. Burden is on the user to know about, find out about, usage of nostore cheatcode.

quick way to shave 1.3 Mb filesize-on-disk within the iso
/usr/share/icewm/themes/icenoir-3.3/Clock.jpg
389k ... mtPaint saveAs jpg@80 ... 85k
/usr/share/images/fluxbox/debian-squared.jpg

This little light of mine, I'm gonna let it shine...
Firefox supports assignment of multiple startup tabs, so... Rock the vote.

it's not an original idea, though. Throughout my distrohopping I've seen a couple other distros doing that.

I noticed tonight that mp4 videos (and I think all video types) in rox-filer open in mpv rather than whatever is defined by desktop-defaults. this is not true of other apps defined by desktop-defaults (like text editor).

that rox-filer behavior is due to the (presence of and) content of the files here:
/etc/skel/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/MIME-types/
AFAIK, rox-filer first checks for a matching"mimetype file" within the path ~/.config/rox-filer/MIMI-types
and falls back to looking for a match in the path /etc/skel/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/MIME/ (a path not currently used in antix)
I just checked the contents of that"MIME-types" dir and, yep, all these config files (exist and) contain exec mpv directive
application_vnd.rn-realmedia
application_x-flash-video
video_3gpp
video_mp4
video_mpeg
video_ogg
video_quicktime
video_x-flv
video_x-matroska
video_x-ms-asf
video_x-ms-wmv
video_x-theora+ogg
I didn't test: maybe could replace all these with a single video* configfile, to be placed in /etc/skel/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/MIME/
related considerations:
/etc/skel/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/SendTo/.video_mp4/Open with mpv
^---- this, I reckon causes no problem, but additional SendTo choices would probably be appreciated.
(idunno, would a generically named blanket".video" work, or is a SendTo file necessary for each specific video subtype?)
/etc/skel/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/MIME-types/application_octet-stream
calls leafpad
(is leafpad a suitable"handler" for octet-stream?)
/etc/skel/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/MIME-types/application_x-deb
calls exec gdebi"$@" which isn't preinstalled in RC1
( gdebi + deps would add 4.2Mb )
