A lot of time and work was spent getting antiX-15 (Killah P) ready for stable release; we hope you like it.

As with previous releases, antiX-15 comes in 3 flavours for 32 and 64 bit processors all fitting on a cd.
antiX-full (667MB) -4 windows managers - IceWM(default), fluxbox, jwm and herbstluftwm
antiX-base (567MB) -3 windows managers - fluxbox(default), jwm and herbstluftwm
antiX-core-libre (222MB) - no X. Just enough to get you connected (wired) and ready to build.

antiX-base and antiX-core versions use gzip compression of the squashfs/linuxfs file which means a faster boot
to desktop with less RAM usage, but file size is approximately 80MB larger. antiX-full uses xz compression.

antiX has been designed to be fast, light on resources and flexible.

Install it to harddrive, run it live from a stick or run as a frugal install on a partion.

Want to run antiX on a usb device with persistence?
antiX does this simply and effectively.

Want to remaster your running live system?
antiX makes this easy.

Want to create an iso file of your installed to hard drive system?
Yes, antiX has this feature too.

Want to run live on a box with UEFI bootloader?

Just gave a glance over the distrowatch page and noticed it is not really accurate any longer.
Jessie is stable now so I seems to me that the page should reflect being stable based not testing?
Also it does not seem to mention jwm in the window manager lists.

I know it is probably not really a big concern but I think it might be best to give the correct info if it is easily changed.

I have this image installed now; terrific job fixing up the small issues. If any issues remain, they are easy to miss because I have not encountered any of them; very clean installation, very good detail once installed; it's just right for my kind of usage and this one really is interchangeable with MX-14 - MX-15 as far as I am concerned. I put the Xfce software on here using the meta package installer and now I have both the small antiX window managers for small, fast, low memory usage when I need that, and a middle of the road, but still efficient Xfce when I'm doing the every day desktop stuff. Great all around system.

I've got a problem now, though! Which of the great MX and antiX distributions do I use in any given day - to add to the already fine Debian and Debian-based distributions already in my collection?

Well, MX-14 is rock solid and a great desktop system for simply doing work when there is no free time to experiment. It's OK when I WANT to experiment, but to me, that is where antiX has always excelled, and that is still true.

Bottom line, I can't lose; they are all excellent. Congratulations to everyone involved with either the MX series or the antiX release; they've all been great and this antiX-15 release is definitely a WINNER! Thank you all for your efforts!

Over 1,400 downloads from SourceForge in the first day. 129 downloads via BitTorrent for a total of over 1,500 downloads.

The full flavours are the most popular:

Code: Select all

antiX-15-V_386-full.iso 563
antiX-15-V_x64-full.iso 523
antiX-15-V_386-base.iso 32
antiX-15-V_x64-base.iso 78
antiX-15-V_386-core-libre.iso 163
antiX-15-V_x64-core-libre.iso 43
Note that the Live core and base flavours should boot noticeably faster than full.

Thank you very much for V15:developers the testing team and the community.
I have been a browser for a few months and have been using earlier versions, which I enjoy.
My skill is at the"apt-forget" level, so I appreciate the open and"normal speak" on this site.
I had to search to donate, which I did through the kind offices of the MX- Mepis team, could I suggest that this link is highlighted in view of all the work that is done.
Thanks again
