How long is a piece of string?

There really is no answer to your question; with such a small development team, and no-one able to predict what problems might occur, it's always going to be open-ended.

Have you been testing the beta release, and providing feedback? The more users that do this, the quicker bugs are likely to be squashed.

Usually once it goes to beta, it isn't long before a release, dependent on all the bugs being fixed.

Suggest you try a beta on your system to see if all is well. __{{emoticon}}__

Don't forget that you can upgrade to the release version, so don't have to re install.

What worries me is the lack of wireless support as I have no access to ethernet cable. Has that big been taken care of?

The recent problematic Debian"stable" release shows that there may have been some advantage to having waited.

Run it 'live' to check if your wifi works, before installing. __{{emoticon}}__

I downloaded the iso and tried to boot but it would not work. Flashed the USB on my machine, a windows machine and a mac and still the USB would not boot.

Would you be more specific please?

For example, 'didn't work' might mean it failed to boot from the USB at all, or it might mean it got to the first boot screen, then wouldn't continue. Or any number of other things.

It could not find an executable file so it did not boot from the usb.

Thanks,

Did you check the md5sum of your .iso, you may have had a bad download.

If Fatmac's suggestion doesn't help, can you specify how you created the USB please?

Note: I have downloaded this ISO twice, and booted it a number of times on a variety of hardware, without any problems.

What is the iso's checksum? Is there a torrent I can use?

I have flashed the USB using command line, Echter and Unetbootin

Thanks,

Michel

Try using rufus in Windows to make the USB live drive. Check md5sum like fatmac suggested.
