Maybe you unplugged the usb device while it was still mounted. Easy to do.
On the task bar at the bottom, to the left of number 1, there is an app that allows you to unmount a usb device before removing it.

Aha, like always my linux ignorance has got me into trouble again. I've always put things into USB ports and they would work and I would pull them out and they would stop working!!
Thanks Everyone, I'm awful sorry I've taken up so much of your time!!

I'll probably make the mistake of not unmounting again ( old habits are very hard to break ) but I hope not!!

No problem! I've ruined usb sticks that way, so at least yours still works!

Thank goodness that it still works, I have a lot of stuff on it that I need!!
I'm sure, as time passes, that I will discover other Antix 15 things that are very different from other distros!

Sometimes Spacefm gets stuck -- running already. Check ps aux | grep spacefm to see if it running. If so kill that process and the trouble might resolve.

Try to describe your problem clearly in stepwise manner so one of the local gurus can help you. They are not mind readers!

Pardon my sarcasm, please.
