Well I am still Learning it afab4. Got this far after mounting drives. Just have to figure /etc/fstab or /etc/udev entries or /etc/mtab entries for automount. After I mounted using slitaz mounter. I can drag and drop to side pane in thunar and open from there. Probably won't stick with a reboot as they will unmount again. But slowly learning. __{{emoticon}}__

Ok. I think? I see why thunar does not automount internal drives for now

FromThere have been recent news about security issues with automount stuff
(linked with vulnerabilities in pdf parsers and thumbnailers). It
doesn't warrant a DSA, but I think it's safer to ship thunar-volman with
automount/autobrowse/autorun disabled by default.

Yves-Alexis

My Internal Partitions now show up/survived on reboot in side panel in Thunar and open from there after I edited my my /etc/fstab. I am going to show the original which I backed up first. Then the new. They also show up in side panel of pcmanfm and work the same as in Thunar.
Original:
My Modified /etc/fstab:
After editing and reboot. I recieved these 3 errors on boot, but, booted ok to desktop and file managers now automount partitions in thunar and pcmanfm sidebar on bootup
.
EDIT: To Get rid of boot errors below is my final /etc/fstab for now.
I should mention that I think the newline error was because of the way I tried to insert /dev/fd0 in fstab which was on the last line which I have since taken out of the file. Still trying to figure floppy drive still. __{{emoticon}}__
I added a /mnt/floppy directory. /dev/fd0 also shows in file manager. Scratching Head still.

I did a bit of googling and the solution(s) that were given to this were to either modify fstab so that the partitions were mounted at boot or to edit the /etc/dbus1/system.d/hal.conf file. Something about modifying the permissions so hal will mount? I dunno, it is too much for my feeble mind.
Interestingly, I booted Mint10 LXDE live and pcmanfm 0.9.7 is the file manager. It works perfectly mounting the partitions and USB automatically even running live! Wish we could figure a way to have it do this for antix.
No, this isn't enough for me to go Minty.....

For what it's worth, using antiX-M11-486-base on my P200MMX, 128M ram.
Thunar workable with 128 M ram, probably less too, takes up little ram, but swap
usage goes up much.
The floppy issue? No go so far. (USB floppy maybe a workaround?)
To mount a USB flashdrive, I need to give command mount /dev/sda1. On this box, /mnt is where this is, not /media. (This is the opposite of using -M11-686-base, ie /media is where the usb device turns up when plugged in.)
Rok, valiant work.

Not perfect, but I use rox for mounting internal partitions and thunar for external devices. Or remove thunar and install usbmount so external sticks should appear in rox under /media/usb

Also if you open thunar, plug in a usb stick, it also automatically automounts in Rox as well..

Here is a screenshot of thunar opening my live antiX on a stick. Note it shows in Rox as well.

In reference to my Chat. I inserted a USB stick which has my AntiX 11 rc1 install on it. Just as a test. Hotplug told me in file manager it was locked. So used Slitaz Mounter to mount it. Then it was unlicked. At least it showed in the side panel.
So another experiment. I rebooted with USB flash inserted. Now it is mounted without using Slitaz mounter and can be read as user. Don't know why rebooting fixed this. Just info. Just read you post Anti .
