Oh, I dunno, I think there is a acpi=off, or noacpi option? i have no idea what that would do?
Or maybe it has nothing to do with it.

I have read on forums that after people install and reinstall OSes many times they may run be unable to boot. To solve this issue you can do a zero write pass once to clear off the drive then install an OS. Something like DBAN or killdisc should do. Remember that doing one zero write pass should solve the issue, selecting DOD Short (3 passes) is unneeded. If selecting DBAN run in interactive mode and change DOD Short.

If you do this you'll be unable to recover data from the hard drive. This may not be a great option if you plan to keep a paid OS such as Windows and don't have recovery discs.

Make sure to install the 32bit version of antiX. It should say something like x86, i386, i486, i686 in the name.

The problem may be a hidden bin file that the bios is reading. Use a disk formatting tool to clean the hard-drive then go into the bios, and make it so It's not a plug, and play OS. Then make, and boot with a clean copy of the 386 version of Antix iso.
If you need a good formatting tool. I use the disk tools on this ISO.

I use Linux distros a lot to breath new life in to old computers. I have had to do this many times to get the OS to install. Sometimes the drivers on the CD conflict with the drivers the bios is trying to load.

if you go to antixcc, disks, mount connected devices, press the list button.
You should get a list of partitions(sdax) usb's, and other stuff(sdbx, sdcx, and so on)
go back to the mountbox, and enter the name of your stick in the top window, so it would say:
/dev/sdb1 (if your stick is sdb1), click mount.

Rox-filer should open, and you can see your partitions, and other thingies, the ones with the green blob up top,is mounted. click the folders to open, if you want.

If you open the folder, you should see your movies(as an example) left click one of them, and select:
Set run action.
n the window that say: enter a shell command, enter mplayer, before the"ยค#", or whatever is in it.
Go back , and click the file again, and mplayer should open your movie.

skype... ehm. ok...

In a terminal, type, or copy/paste:

sudo smxi -G

enter your user password

when it says press enter to continue, press enter, lol

do not select liqourix sources, (if you don't want them)

eh, select th server closest to you, in my case, 24 (norway)

just try to bypass anything, until you get to the Main options selector.
it will say:

1 package-install
2 package-removal
3 and so on

enter 1, enter

then 2, (non free) enter

then 6 (skype) enter

wait...

When it is done, find your way out of smxi again

It is probably easier when you have it up on your screen. Good luck with it

You might try some more active Cheatcodes. Try these:

I'd try vga=vesa and other video-related Cheatcodes first.

Just type them in when the cd boots up to the pretty blue AntiX grub boot choice menu screen. __{{emoticon}}__
