Lysistrata has been upgraded!
Now available antiX-M7.01. This is an upgraded version of antiX-M7 incorporating the kernel version in the released Mepis 7, the Debian Stable upgrades and upgrades from the Debian testing repository. In this version, the Mepis repo is not used by default, so upgrading should pose few, if any, problems.
At the moment it is avalailable from

Not sure if I should post in this area of the forum, please forgive me if I am in the wrong section. Stupid question, but do I need to download the iso, or can I simply update the previous distro version via apt-get? __{{emoticon}}__

Hi thisisforever,
No need to re-install (providing you are using antiX-M7 Lysistrata), you can use apt-get to get to the present iso, but not everything will be the same.
* antiX-M7.01 uses a different looking boot/grub menu.
* antiX-M7.01 has extra cheatcodes and updated scripts written by UnicornRider
* some graphics in Lysistrata have been removed (to save space)
* antiX-M7.01 includes kernel headers unlike Lysistrata, but they can be easily installed.
* the fluxbox menu is slightly different in the new antiX.
These are minor changes (for most users, but great for new users).
To upgrade Lysistrata properly to almost antiX-M7.01
1. apt-get update
2. apt-get dist-upgrade
3. Uncomment the Mepis repos.
4. apt-get updaye and apt-get dist-upgrade again
5. Go to UnicornRider's site for his scripts used in antiX-M7.01 and download and install them.
6. If you want the new grub menu, let me know and I can make the files available.

On my laptop I have lysistrata installed an am happy upgrading it. For my other boxes, I am in the process of consolidating my boxes and am backing up files, dumping old drives, etc. For the remaining boxes I will install the updated iso (this will be next week). In the meantime, I had to create an account as I dled the iso when only one dl option was available. So now I can upload some themes. Thanks.

To bring a system running from harddisk"up to my date", downloading the install script and invoking it with the"core" switch ougth to suffice, read: trigger all downloads, installations and system changes necessary.

Thank you, Anti and Unicorn.
Anti- I would definitely like that new grub menu, when you have some time to upload. __{{emoticon}}__

Here is the link for the 'message' file.

Download it and put in it your /boot/grub folder. It is probably best to rename the one already there message_old, just in case the new one doesn't work properly.

Thanks for the congratulations viz distrowatch. I guess we'll get more visitors and I hope this site doesn't start playing up.
About splash, I suppose you will kave to install splashy. I'm not sure what Tinyme, tinyflux, wolvix use, but I'd like to find out and give it a try.

To upgrade, would it be possible to just copy the home directory to a pen drive, do a new install then copy-back the old home directory? It sounds good in theory but will it work?!
