Here's another theme formerly available at freshmeat: Kathleen 3. I edited it a little bit by adding a"show desktop" icon, changing the font, removing the cursors, and adding a splash of orange as a tribute to the older kathleen themes. Here is the result below.

Here is the theme. Extract to ~/.icewm/themes to keep symlinks intact.

(iceWMCP) is an app that hasn't been updated for some years now but it's very complete and can be used as a control panel for system tasks too.
I wouldn't advise to use it in antiX full since the latter has it's own CP, has some tools of its own for Icewm too and has Icewm already setup. Since iceWMCP has a lot of options to tweak the window manager it would mess antiX's setup so it's advised to backup the files in ~/.icewm before playing with it.
I myself haven't tried it much but it seems quite evident that it's a nice tool if one installs Icewm in an antiX-base, for example.

Debian has no package for it but Open SUSE has, so I turned them (iceWMCP and iceWMCP-addons rpm packages) into Debian with the app 'alien'. It needs the package python-gtk2 as a dependency:

Here is another ice control center:

If you like what you see, I'd suggest installing the applications individually. Of course, if you want the complete package, then install the whole thing. But no matter what option you choose, based on my experience with the app, it is best to install from source. You will need to install some qt development packages, but it's the best way to go.

This guy also made an idesk config tool. It's not listed on the page but I think I have a link in another system.

I found a program that could be called the solution for auto-generated menus in IceWM. It's called MenuMaker:

========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://sourceforge.net/projects/menumaker/"
linktext was:"http://sourceforge.net/projects/menumaker/"
====================================
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false

========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://menumaker.sourceforge.net/"
linktext was:"http://menumaker.sourceforge.net/"
====================================
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false

It simply reads Debian's menu files, .desktop files and other legacy types and creates a very neat and comprehensive IceWM menu (works with other window managers too).

I've installed it but I think it can be run from the decompressed folder. The basic run command is

Code: Select all

mmaker icewm
Besides that it has some option like to set a default terminal emulator different than Xterm etc.

To update the menu

Code: Select all

mmaker icewm -f
so it overwrites the menu file.

IceWM theme, made the frames a bit thinner and applied the font settings from Impuwat's antiX themes.
The original default.theme file is still there, renamed as default.orig.theme.

This is a modfication of the NiceKristall themes in box-look.org. Mostly it has the title bars from Icedesert (IceWM's default theme), another menusel colour and changed font settings.

Some small fixes for IceWM themes that come with antiX:

1) AntiX-Green:

Code: Select all

# cd /usr/share/icewm/themes/AntiX-Green/

Code: Select all

# rm dframeARR.xpm

Code: Select all

# ln -s frameAR.xpm dframeAR.xpm
2) FauxGlass: the default.theme file in /usr/share/icewm/themes/FauxGlass/ has a mistake in the ColorNetIdle= line and also a bit confusing comment about something that wasn't working. I suggest leaving

Code: Select all

ColorCPUStatusIdle=""
and

Code: Select all

ColorNetIdle=""
I also suggest

Code: Select all

Look=pixmap
since it works very well with this theme. But some may prefer the flat look.

As a tip, I found

theme very nice. It's a light coloured theme, appropriate for daytime. I personally changed the look from flat to pixmap, since this is more functional with the button movement. This gives it a different but still pleasant look.

I'm attaching the corrected default.theme file for FauxGlass and a pixmap.theme file to be added to Semplice's folder to give it this extra option.

I found that IceGilDust, Korstro and KorstroDark also have the same mistake as FauxGlass in their default.theme files.

NightShadesI and NightShadesII have that comment too but their ColorNetIdle= parameter is ok so it doesn't make any difference.

I added a pixmap look option (embossed buttons), which I had to tweak a little for the workspace buttons to look good. Also added the wallpaper depicted that I found online.

Up Late again. Bored. That's when I try new things. Sometimes I break it. Sometimes I don't. __{{emoticon}}__

Was trying too get fewts jupiter EEEPC control-tray to install and work in Icewm. That is a long story for later (unsuccessful icon launcher and root launch /usr/bin/jupiter.exe brought nothing but errors) .
Stumbled on

So I figured what the heck. I downloaded Asus themes and LINTHERD-Mac themes and put them in ~/.icewm/themes

Just to give a Idea of what themes look like. Here is LINTHERD-Mac-Purple

Going to have to work on that start button.xpm Though it is cute. LOL Funny having a Puppy Logo on a AntiX Icewm start button.

LINTHARED-MacBlue with Motorcycle tank startbutton inserted instead of Puppy Logo. Time to go to sleep.

to install. This is a refresher from OU812s post

Open file manager. View hidden files. Go to /home/(your user name)/.icewm
Make a new directory/follder and name it themes

Extract the zip file and place it in /home/(your user name)/.icewm/themes
It wi show up in Start>Settings>Themes
