So you mean you won't install them as

sudo apt-get install libx11-dev

so the link is here:
========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://packages.debian.org/sid/libx11-dev"
linktext was:"http://packages.debian.org/sid/libx11-dev"
====================================
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false

this is the sid version (latest). There you'll find packages .deb and .tar.gz (original source)

Also make sure you'll read the dependencies part... Do you really need to compile all that stuff?

Yes, that is what I mean. Thank you for the link.
No, I don't need to compile anything; what I needed are already compiled; but what should I do ? i don't drink, don't smoke, have no TV

Instead of compiling you could get rid of your spare time with

An idea, especially since libx11-dev made no difference, ./configure gave me the same excuse"can't find X files"

Well, did you check the dependencies for KDE? I suppose you need libxcursor-dev, libxkbfile-dev, libxtst-dev, libxau-dev, libxdmcp-dev , too! Thats what I guessed by using SYNAPTIC . And there are some other dependencies.

Or at least, if gods name, you need for some inner satisfaction, you need to compile KDE yourself. Add the Source Repositories to your sources.list (commented out) and download the the kde source package with synaptic.
