If you have any devices (usb) plugged in when booting, try unplugging them at boot and see if it boots ok.
If not, maybe try a re-install.

I had a similar issue after installing and found I had to reset my bios boot order to have the hard drive boot first and then the CD. Apparently for some reason it kept wanting to load the live CD but there was no error message either.metallextrem wrote: when I reboot It turn black and hang up. metallextrem, do you have root and home installed on separate partitions?
I have encountered some boot problems related to this, and have had to modify both /boot/grub/menu.lst and /etc/fstab to identify partitions by UUID, rather than the usual /dev/sda_.

griennehornette: I don't think I have separated partitions. I just made the default install on a dedicated disk (the only one in my laptop). Thanks anyway!

Did you save /home when installing?
What error do you get after startx?
Before typing startx, type inxi -F so we can see some details of your hardware, especially video drivers nvidiea? ati?
