Still trying to figure this out. This is somewhat of a"show stopper" for using antiX as my main system (which I would like). I haven't really found too much updated documentation.

If you go to synaptic>edit>search and input laptop battery manager there will be several choices,
I just installed
the following packages:
gkrellm (2.3.2-4)
gkrellm-i8k (2.5-1)
i8kutils (1.31)
libntlm0 (0.3.13-1)
as I have a dell laptop, I now have battery status
there are several packages available check them out
