I made this to show a preview of what is going on with some of the new layout for AntiX 14, (edit thanks to BitJam), thanks to Dave and Bitjam and others. The file will only be downloadable for 21 days so get it while it is hot.

I recorded it .avi so it should play just fine.

Just left click the screencast.avi and save so you can play it after it downloads.

Or open up in gnome-mplayer and watch without saving.

The new layout looks quite sophisticated.

Just to let you know, how ever you encoded that avi file, I haven't been able to play it now on two different windows systems. I haven't got my antix laptop with me at the moment, but I presume from other comments that it plays just fine there.

Code: Select all

ffmpeg -f x11grab -s 1024x768 -r 24 -an -threads 2 -sameq -i :0.0 screencast.avi
Was how I did it D.O.

Nothing fancy.

That's easily fixed - download and install VLC player.

I always installed VLC __{{emoticon}}__ but in this case major video corruption on two different systems. wouldn't play at all in WMP.

OK real weirdness. Last night it played fine, but today it just sticks at some error message about something being depreciated and to use avconv instead, the error message being on the video, not on my machine.

Session error file reads:

Code: Select all

[0x14ac108] main libvlc: Running vlc with the default interface. Use 'cvlc' to use vlc without interface.
[0x179b8e8] avi demux error: avi module discarded (invalid file)

[m4v @ 0x7f796408d940] Estimating duration from bitrate, this may be inaccurate
[mpeg4 @ 0x17a1ba0] slice end not reached but screenspace end (522 left 400C0C, score= -2)
[mpeg4 @ 0x17a1ba0] concealing 1536 DC, 1536 AC, 1536 MV errors in P frame
[mpeg4 @ 0x17a5ea0] slice end not reached but screenspace end (519 left 7E6060, score= -3)
Plus loads more with the same theme.

I am wondering, does the menu auto-update when you install an app? I see there are now 3 apps in an update-menus folder...
