By the way: What is the local opinion on Wayland, SystemD and sreadahead (for 8.5 and/or next Antix version) ?

Nice, really nice! That is almost like I imagined it.

Three points though i'd lke to mention:
1. For (font + glow) coloring i'd taken a light grey from the AntiX logo instead of green.
2. I'd prefer the search (text) box itself a little higher on the page.
3. If I am not wrong it is common practice to have the (anitX) logo a link.
Please don't take it the wrong way, I really appreciate it.

Like it better.

I like the main body of yours it is much more clean than mine and the code more detailed than what I whipped together, but I still would prefer to see the header that I have made on there, just gives a graphical appeal.

Looks almost the same as yours, just removed the table, added img-alts, added logo as favicon and h1'ed the banner.

Just a reminder (mainlyfor myself): for actual use some links in the header have to be adjusted as well as the links to images can be made relatve, some more keywords and a more detailed description wouldn't hurt either.

EDIT: @Dave: what do think of changing the line in the Banner from:"Custom web start for the users of Antix" to something like"Custom Antix Startpage"? The part"..for the users of Antix" may sound excluding.

I thought that"for the users of antiX" may sound a little excluding, so I was not going to add it at first. I was just adding something similar to the header of the forum, then I came to thinking that it is a web page start for antiX, so I left it

I think the page looks great and you guys have done a great job.

If you don't mind an opinion, I think the whole sentence about"users of Antix" could be left out. It would look great with just"Antix Start/ Mean and Lean".

I think it's a great idea to have a start page. Thanks for working on this!

@atcl, you did not mention anything about the login on the side. Do you think it is to much for the page, or is it just not a good idea.

i really like the look of it. i posted before on this topic but i don't know how i managed to delete the post.
one suggestion, can you do something with the antix logo on the left? maybe incorporate it in the antix start logo or remove it and make the antix start a link to antix homepage. i don't know, it looks to me like it has no place being there. does a version without the borders exists ? great work guys.

edit: the login part doesn't inspire confidence to login via it, to me at least, and it looks that it crowds the page.

Dimmed out the borders and removed the left floating logo.

On the Login: I wouldn't use it, but I am not regularly visiting this forum. If it should be on the page i would make smaller and place it on the lower left or right.

Its being favored for it to not be on there. So I not going to bother with it anymore. I seen the page with the borders missing as well as the logo, the logo did not seem like a big impact but the borders did to me. I added a sort of background"border" to the main part. How does it look?

- is there a way to make the logo match the grey background, maybe make it a little bigger.
- remove some of the page breaks to remove the side scroll bar. i have 1280x800 and i can scroll down the page.
