antiX net images available

Want to build up from the bare minimum to create your own personalised antiX Debian systemd-free install?

Then, try our net.iso install images.

Available for 32 and 64 bit processors for Debian jessie and Debian stretch.

Images are under 150MB.

What's on the iso?

* 4.4.10 antiX custom kernel and headers (not libre)
* cli-installer
* antiX live system and persistence
* cli remastering
* live-kernel-updater
* live-usb-maker
* nano for editing
* rsync
* eudev
* sysvinit as init default. No systemd or libsystemd0.

Get them here:

Stretch

These images are offered to experienced Debian users since the cli-installer assumes that users have some knowledge of Linux.

On first boot, follow the instructions to login as root and start the cli-installer.

Make sure you have an Internet connection before running the installer and you know the partition you want to install onto eg sdb2.

You MUST say 'Yes' to the 'Are you using a net install? question and you must install grub to the MBR.

At the moment UEFI install is not supported.

PS MATE desktop is in the antiX repos for jessie, testing (stretch) and sid. Rebuilt to remove any systemd and/or libsystemd0 dependencies!

PS2 For live-remaster and persistence to work better, install gettext-base, lockfile-progs xz-utils and p7zip

Enjoy!

Not relavent to the topic (the topic title just reminded me to ask):

Is a larger (higher resolution) version of the antiX logo image available?

If not, then maybe a larger version of this is available?

It was quite a pain to make antiX run on my VIA machine, I needed the newest openchrome (1:0.5.0-3) driver from unstable, libgl1-mesa-dri and xserver-xorg-input-libinput

Somehow I wasn't able to avoid udev which pulled systemd.
LXDE is running ok.

Here is how I got systemd:

I haven't been able to get a good grub install yet. I've got both the 16.1 and the 17 net isos.

Thanks, for this iso. A great teacher. Sure saved me asking a lot of questions.

I too, run into the grub fiasco with GUIs.

As noted, when asked to MBR it installed.
What command will list what is available say in Jesse for install. I hope I worded that right.
Wanting screenshot that is in AntiX-16 and can not figure that name for one.

does pulseaudio still need the x11 module ? If so, it needs built for nosystemd and pulse 10, because the pulse 9 one won't install.

having some trouble with the iso-snapshot tool. I've made one good snapshot (a reset-account version), clocking in at around .98 GB. I just tried to make a"personal" snapshot and ended up with a 1.8 GB iso that results in kernel panic. I tried another"personal" snapshot, and it was again 1.8 GB and un-bootable (same kernel panic).

I still have all three isos if any more info is required. this is all with the antiX-net 17.1 alpha (testing).
