I just tried to make a"personal" snapshot and ended up with a 1.8 GB iso that results in kernel panic. I tried another"personal" snapshot, and it was again 1.8 GB and un-bootable (same kernel panic).

I still have all three isos if any more info is required. this is all with the antiX-net 17.1 alpha (testing).

fresh install yesterday and today. all same packages except I didn't install pinta or google-chrome. first run of iso-snapshot - .9 gb.

just ran another snapshot...problems from yesterday have not reoccured. Its possible I ran out of disk space and some kind of cleanup didn't happen. Not sure, but appears to be working today.

I spoke too soon. Installed firefox, did another snapshot, and the iso size is about double what I expected it to be. disk space is not an issue this time.

someone else mentioned this (same?) issue in a recent MX forum topic.

========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php?f=104&t=41500&hilit=snapshot"
linktext was:"http://forum.mxlinux.org/viewtopic.php? ... t=snapshot"
====================================

The pattern /home/snapshot was absent from the default excludes file.
After editing excludes file to insert a line containing that pattern, snapshot works as expected.

In that topic, Adrian dismissed my theory about how this regression could (did?) occur:
At a later step in the build-iso process, after the snapshot package files have been installed...
...some op might be overwriting the installed excludes file(s) with same-named copies sourced elsewhere.

home/snapshot is in the excludes list.. and in my case, I blanked it ahead of time.

I'm going to mount the created linuxfs and see what's in there.

***edit*** I'm also wondering if the iso-level needs set. maybe I slipped past some file size threshold.

live-usb-maker on the core/net iso needs extlinux to launch, which isn't listed as a dependency.

It also needs syslinux-common
