This is the first public test version of antiX-M8.2.

I have uploaded it to the MEPIS server for Warren to upload to the mirrors and sens an announcement to Distrowatch and elsewhere.
Hopefully it will be available soon.

For those that have been testing test1-test3, you can simply add the patch(es) to get antiX-M8.2-pt1.iso

See here for how to do so.

antix,

any major changes from the previous test3?

have you thought about changing the name of this release to Tehran Revolution or Election Revolt?

Major changes only in localisation really.

If test3 works for you, just keep it up to date via apt-get/synaptic.

Tehran Revolution sounds good. Might get some of the antiX-M8 boycotters to review it __{{emoticon}}__

xdelta is already present in antiX (at least in 8.2 test2, which is the version I'm using).
If the .iso you have stored is test3, please download file patchtest3-pt1.delta
deltapatch-M8.2-test1-test3 is for patching test1 or test2 to become test3.

yahoo changed something in their login and pidgin 2.5.6 doesn't work no more for yahoo mess. i have pidgin 2.5.7 from sid and i hope it will get to testing soon. because it wouldn't be a good idea to have antix with a not working yahoo pidgin. just letting you know if the release is soon. i didn't have the time to look at it but i'll try later in the week. thanks.

I see the announcement says system-config-printer is in now. Good choice! Way better than the other options.

if the themes wallpapers are now in home/user/wallpaper why do we need them in /usr/share/wallpaper ? that's 10 mb off.

I have been putting out the good word about these test releases, and in addition to the Distro Watch announcement that obviously went out, I have been writing about antiX in the USALUG, Newbies Linux Forum, and Extreme Tech Forum (that last one is on its gasping breath), but still has a notable following.

I just updated one of my systems today myself and all is well.

I actually got in here today with PT 1 using Virtualbox - a first for me. As expected, this thing works beautifully for my purposes!

ICE-M, they are moved to /home/user/Wallpaper.

The /usr/share/wallpaper is needed for icewm themes and corresponding wallpaper for the theme for all users.
