I thought I had posted this.

Anyhows, in the antiX Testing repos, we have the latest 4 kernel for 32 and 64 bit, as well as gnu-libre.

Test them out.

I had to download the nvidia-legacy debs from siduction fixes repo. For some reason, the usually reliable sgfxi failed.

Code: Select all

the usually reliable sgfxi failed.
Yeah, I got sgfxi errors trying Nvidia 3.xxxx for

Code: Select all

$ inxi -G
Graphics: Card: NVIDIA G71 [GeForce 7900 GS]
           Display Server: X.Org 1.16.4 driver: nouveau
           Resolution: 1280x1024@60.02hz
           GLX Renderer: Gallium 0.4 on NV49 GLX Version: 2.1 Mesa 10.3.2
Rolled with Vesa driver created in / etc/xorg.conf but rolled back to nouveau instead of fighting tooth and nail with sgfxi.
I had to delete the vesa xorg.conf and let it create a new nouveau xorg.conf.

But New kernels are rolling good on both the touchscreen M&A Companion Netbook and this Dell T3400 so far.

Code: Select all

$ inxi -M
Machine: System: Dell product: Precision WorkStation T3400
           Mobo: Dell model: 0TP412 Bios: Dell v: A09 date: 06/04/2009
harry@tramp:~

No complaints really so far. The touchscreen is intel and the touch functions still work in the 4.0 kernel.

On my system the wlan-usb is not recognized with linux-image-4.0.0-antix.1-amd64-smp

This is from my running system with 3.19.1-antix.1-amd64-smp

The gnu kernels are libre kernels i.e. no non-free blobs included.

That module exists in the kernel.

Testing this kernel is on my"TODO" list; not sure how soon I will be able to actually test it, but hopefully it will be soon. The good news is that I've already tested the siduction 4.0.1 kernel before I heard about antiX receiving this; theirs worked fine on both Gateway and Lenovo test laptops that I use, and antiX kernels nearly always work too, so I'm optimistic that our new kernel will work; I have an antiX-15 Beta and an MX-14 available where it can be tested.

Uups,I forgot.

Code: Select all

 dkms status
8192cu, 1.9, 3.18-5.dmz.1-liquorix-amd64, x86_64: installed
8192cu, 1.9, 3.19.1-antix.1-amd64-smp, x86_64: installed
rtl8192cu-tjp, 1.6: added
Sadly I cant get the 8192cu-modul build against the antix4.0 kernel.So as long as I use this usb-dongle I have to stay with 3.19.1-antix.1
