if"preserving desktop changes" during install, the installer icons are not removed from rox pinboard.

However, loving the fact that my theming and personal menu were preservered from the liveUSB to the installed system. That is great for those of us that make custom LiveUSB's for installation (or reinstallation) later.

You should be able to control that by editing /etc/desktop-session/desktop-session.conf but that doesn't seem to work here. STARTUP_DIALOG is already set to"false" and setting STARTUP_DIALOG_CMD to"echo" has no effect. Even editing the NOTIFICATION_TEXT has no effect.

I think this is a bug.

I think this is a bug.
Startup dialog is different than the notification. So it is actually disabled as it should be by default. The notification text should change to whatever you set there, if it is not that is a bug. However there is no option to turn off the startup notification window at the moment.

The test system can boot with a maximum of 800x600x16 (vga=788).

In 13.2
Resolution in X is 1280x1024@60hz
The SIS driver is automatically and correctly loaded and used.

In 15
It boots to GUI (X) OK, however the X resolution is 800x600.

Things just keep getting better for me. The wife came home for lunch. Told me the IT guy at city hall asked if I wanted 2 Dell tower computers.
A Dell Optiplex 755 and a Dell Optiplex GX280.

After cleaning out the dust and dirt. Adding a Sata hard drive. Adding 2 more gig of ram for a total of 4 gig ram.

Nice to have a ready source of older computers that either work or are fairly easy to replace or update one or two components, then have a working system for years. I've had a few of these kinds of systems over the years. I remember geting one completely free; all I had to do was purchase a new, inexpensive fan/power supply for one, and purchase some additional memory for another; total cash for the unit and the replacement parts was well under $100, probably $45-60.

Another time I spent perhaps $200 on a used system and got years of use out of it. But unless you're paying out, it sounds like you have even better sources, and even if you buy some of them, you can refurbish, possibly"upgrade" them and potentially create a nice small business for inexpensive, used, refurbished, reliable equipment, running outstanding antiX software, of course! __{{emoticon}}__

I've never made a business directly out of my efforts; I've simply acquired hardware and software at very little cost, made very small investments to make what I have last, and I've written about my experiences, getting paid once or twice for writing, but learning a lot and finding good jobs that have leveraged my experience in overall systems engineering, testing, and project management.

Got the other T3400 Dell Optiplex running. Different video card than my other one. Found that the card is not crt friendly. So learned something new today. It makes the crt screen have a wavy motion like making you sea sick to watch it. I thought my old crt was going bad till I tried another crt and had the same problem. So hooked up to a LCD. Problem solved. Running live presently. Waiting on a 10 buck 4 gig ECC server ram stick as the ram in here is ECC and non-ECC won't let bios load. Next Beta or Final release will go on this box Anti.

Just to show the touchscreen works and is picked up by the kernel. It picks up my finger and also the Wacom type of pen that fits in a slot on this laptop.

need fix for acpi related issues> fan, fn keys, multimedia keys. Found something for the moment, see hardware threads but not deeply satisfied.

also a bit of configuration for permissions in writing isos to disc. barsero, k3b and xfburn do not allow it, this is not from me or laptop

my network icon from taskbar dosnt stay there always, perhaps needs a fix.

also my windows buttons, max/min/close dissapear at one point, they reappear after restart.
