Yes,I did that but didn't think to paste it because it says there is none when I'm booted with antiX. I'll fire it up and get the exact text in a little bit after I get some coffee, and get permission to tape down the wires over the carpet again, LOL

Can you point me to someplace I would find learning info for me to learn hot to take an existing kernel, like antiX or Slacko, or Slitaz, and learn how to get the source, change it, recompile it, and test the changes? I'm guessing you might know? Thanks __{{emoticon}}__

Not what you asked for but it helps me. So I give it to you.

Try and gather up some info on the firmware and driver used on that usb while in Knoppix I guess. It will help you in
antiX or Slacko, or Slitaz,

Thanks for those links, Roky. I'll go look for sure.

I looked at dmesg and the other operating systems aren't getting that first error with the fail -19 caused by the Irq. I went and looked at the BIOS and basically turned off serial and parallel and secondary ide, and all irq's are set for pnp use.

I also found someone with that same error that solved it with irqpoll or pci=routeirq on the boot command line, but neither helped. I'm beginning to suspect its something in the kernel config, perhaps only affecting certain chipsets, but what do I know? I suppose I could go look for a big generic Debian kernel to see if that solves it. Just shooting into the trees here...

And BTW,I have a biker/fixer buddy here, but he's a mechanical fixer, not heavily into computer stuff, but ANYTHING mechanical he can fix. He's a"salt of the earth" type, and would give you the shirt off hs back if it would save you. Good people are hard to come by,and should always be treated well __{{emoticon}}__

Thanks again __{{emoticon}}__

And it just so happened, that when I burned MX-14, I burned that one to a CD, and found it when I dug thru my stack. I tried it and both the wireless and USB work with MX-14. I looked and it still complains about some MP problem, but a few lines later it notices that the onboard USB is on Irq 9, and it doesn't get that Fail error, and everything works.

So that says to me that its a 14r5 problem. I will change the title again. At least it does most things well.
