First post. Running Live. My internet is too slow to go through the whole thread so excuse me if I missed something I should have read first.
Used Unetbootin with a 2 gig Kingston Data Traveler. First boot try was using F keys for Graphic (1280x1024), Desktop, USB Automount, Took out the"L" in Boot code.
Booted to cli, not slim. Logged in as demo, password demo. startx did not bring up icewm (my selection for desktop). So from command prompt which I was thrown back into. sudo reboot.
After rebooting. The only thing I did not change was the F key for graphics. I left it at auto. Everything else I adjusted again. Removed L again also from boot code.
This booted me straight into a desktop.

/dev/sdb1 is something IBM factory installed in the bios utility for admins on this desktop.
/dev/sdb7 is the internal sata partition Antix Beta 1 Base Iso install sits that I will install this Beta 3 to overwriting this.
Grub goes to root. Grub 2 on Ubuntu 10.04 LTS on /dev/sdb3 (/ partition) will identify and pick up AntiX grub in root with
"sudo update grub" in Ubuntus terminal when booted into Ubuntu.
This Install backup of stuff I wanted to keep, (videos,music,wallpapers,~/.fluxbox/styles,~/.conkyrc,~/.xmms folder (I have custom skins for xmms in there), Any way you get tghe idea. Was totally easier just moving files from AntiX base to Ubuntu. I can copy over faster than to external drive. Saves time.
Automount in /media in rox file manager works in live with no special help from me (just left click on folder). I don't know if it worked because of the F4 key selection I made for automount. Well off to do a install.
