I have uploaded latest 4,2,1 kernels for those that want to test them out.

There is also a legacy version (486) that uses the exact same .config as used for the 3.7.10 kernel. Could those of you that had issues with the default kernel in antiX-15 and had to use the 3.7.10 one, please give it a try and report back.

how it goes on my IBM T23 and Dell dual core tower later on.

So the kernel version is the problem on such old hardware. I guess I could try making a 3.7.10 kernel with the latest toolchain used in antiX-15 kernels.

I have been using a Siduction version of the 4.2.1 kernel (which may be using different config options than the AntiX version) on my old yet trusty Thinkpad T42 and haven't noticed any showstopper issues with that kernel.

Perhaps the AntiX kernel config options need to be changed in order to play nice on old hardware?

Didn't have any issues witn the default kernel in antix 15, but liked to try the new one.

There is an error message in dmesg with the knew kernel.

Code: Select all

Error: Driver 'pcspkr' is already registered, aborting...
Pc-speaker is working normal and everything else seems to be ok, but the message is there.
Just wanted to let you know.

Fresh installation also since I fubared AntiX 13.2 on this drive trying to make it more like AntiX 15.
Plus it was limping along, barely staying together with some kernel jockeying in smxi that did not turn out to well. Then I
changed repos to Daves AntiX 15 urls to get the new antixcc.

Bad idea all around.
