So, should we ship with the 3.18 kernel or the 3.16-7 for 32 bit version?

It ran all day on the old P IIIm without any trouble. Have to use gnome media player to play vide, and its chopppy if done from within iceweasel, but it does play.

but does it work better or worse with the 3.16.7?

I have 2 flash drives;one with antix14-a4 and 3.16.7 kernel, AND the second with 14-a4 and 3.18 kernel. I used them at church on the pastor's old Compaq with a P3 733MHz 512 Mb memory. The 3.18 kernel flows through everything with no problems. The 3.16.7 kernel has high cpu usage and seems to slow down the processes. Just an observation.

I would suggest the 3.18 kernel.

the 3.18-1 kernel is working better on the cpu usage during flash playback that the 3.16 kernel. If 3.18 is working good on the lower end/old machines, then 3.18 sounds like the way to go.

With the 3.18-1 I am able to play youtube video if I copy/paste the url into gnome media player, but no flashplugin I tried works with either. The 3.18-1 has been running 11 hrs on the old P IIIm at this point without any glitches.

I used this at times on my older gear

It uses mplayer instead of flash to play youtube videos. xine can also be subbed to be used instead of mplayer.

I'm working on getting it installed. I've never seen a javascriptt that installs like that before. I have no idea what directory to put it in for iceweasel, LOL. I'll compile and install midori to try it with. The instructions for it are pretty clear.

Deja vu! I was thinking that slowly we were working towards the light, and I pulled up YT and this video was a"must see" on my page. Driving towards the daylight.
