i installed sane and all utils needed, the scanner **ID 05d8:4003 Ultima Electronics Corp. Artec E+ 48U** is recognised, ...etc. Unfortunatly, that prg xscanimage needs a device name as param, like
xscanimage 'libusb:003:001'

i got that to work years ago on another debian, so .. it should work. the *Lsusb* looks like

Bus 004 Device 003: ID 05d8:4003 Ultima Electronics Corp. Artec E+ 48U

...

Please send me some examples of your *xscanimage* params within antiX M12.

Sorry, i merely found it, ...
that whole thing works under root only, up to now.
In the file /etc/sane.d/artec_eplus48u.conf there may be one scanner spec only, for getting it to work.
Full /dev/name is
xscanimage artec_eplus48u\:libusb\:004\:004

For getting that whole thing working under $UID not root ... please wait for tomorrow.
