Downloaded the full 386, then xdelta to RC1, used new_usb.sh to install to thumb drive, wow, very fast. Booted in default to 1024X768 as did autores 1 and autores2, after setting up persistant root rebooted ,this boot is modeset 0. Need more info let me know. I have another newer laptop I'm going to try later.

edit: btw on a reboot, F7 shows DPI, I don't have the F7save option, but I did format the usb using gparted, then used the new_usb.sh script Dict is correct also. Autotime zone defaults to 1hr ahead of my actual timezone.

cheers,

F4 has autoload option that should autoload any necessary drivers eg sd cards.
That didn't work for me, but i am not sure if it was supposed to work in my case.

Else i got intel, and it always works out of box.

My fault. I missed some info BitJam gave me.
Simply using
load=ums-realtek
as boot parameter made it boot.

Good thing I held off on the install and went to Fiesta West Texas on the weekend instead. Got back to see this delta patch uploaded. Off topic a little.
When I went to use the installer on beta 3 before RC1. All the installer could see to install to was my pendrive and not the internal sata drive on the IBM M57 dual core
tower I have so I blew off installing. Trying to unmount internal sata drive in gparted (using the installer button for gparted) got me no where on un mounting internal sata drive. It was late so I blew it off for later. Any hows. Just running live usb for now on this laptop. I gotta do some backup before installing over beta 1 base iso installation on

Code: Select all

root@antiX1:/home/demo# blkid
/dev/loop0: TYPE="squashfs"
/dev/sda1: LABEL="PQSERVICE" UUID="84C0247FC0247996" TYPE="ntfs"

/dev/sda3: LABEL="Acer" UUID="6AC2CA02C2C9D28D" TYPE="ntfs"
/dev/sda5: UUID="26a54718-3581-4c8b-958a-a03d4ce2b96f" TYPE="swap"
/dev/sda6: UUID="36c9c5bd-8611-475c-91ed-b13b8ecfe729" TYPE="ext4"

/dev/sdb1: UUID="CEAC-FE9E" TYPE="vfat"

This laptop dualbooter with Windows 7 and AntiX. It has a recovery partition along with everything else. /dev/sda7 is /home. Funny thing. I a going to check now.

post28986.html#p28986

Yep, beta 3 saw my internal sata partitions as sdb instead of sda like RC1 does. See. I was not hallucinating on magic mushrooms when I ran the installer and could not install that evening. Fiesta West Texas (Cinco de Mayo) was a blast by the way.

modeset=1. By the way BitJam. I am taking out the lean bootcode in live boot if that makes a difference.

Moved out to the shop. AntiX testing is installed on this also along side Ubuntu 10.04. Notice the difference in blkid readouts. sdb vs sda on laptop.

Having some difficultry applying the patch.

Got antiX-13-beta3_386-full.iso and b3_to_RC1_386_delta. md5sums checkout OK for each of them.

Burned ISO to CDROM which boots OK.

Knowing that the unpatched ISO works OK, then tried to apply patch prior to burning the resulting ISO. Each time a one-word message is obtained"killed". An ISO is always produced but it is around 300MB in size.

Command issued

Code: Select all

xdelta3 -d -s antiX-13-beta3_386-full.iso b3_to_RC1_386_delta antiX-13-RC1_386-full.iso

Returned to investigate this the following day. This time the above command completed without an error and produced a working ISO. No idea what caused the difference.

When shutting down live CD session a message is obtained to remove CD. The tray is not automatically ejected and cannot be released manually. The system must be powered down and restarted to remove the CDROM.
