I am a big ceni fan, having used it with great success in the sidux distribution. I have good success with mnetwork, and I find that once it is set up, it"holds" the settings very well and"just works". I do find it a bit confusing to navigate. Wicd has worked any time I have used it.
For me, I would opt for ceni. Advantages are small size, fast operation, and if the connection is made, it connects then returns control to the user (whereas mnetwork has long pauses to cover the worst case scenario, but sometimes ties things up for a while). Disadvantage is that some people might be intimidated by the command line; other alternatives may not face that issue, so it would be good to offer ceni and one other option at least.
