I might be blind here but I don't see a wireless device on your list there. Do you know what it is? What is the make/model of the laptop?

The laptop is a Mercury Centurion 1300 Notebook

Intel Celeron M350
40 Gb HD
256 Mb DDR2 RAM
802.11 b/g WiFi

I pulled the card out and from memory it is an Azurewave agm 100 mini PCI card. It possibly never worked from the start.

I think i'll probably just get a USB wireless stick.

Be careful about those USB wireless sticks, some of them are very difficult to make work. PCMCIA cards are real cheap and work without problem on the other hand.

I don't use wireless so can only point you to here for help:

========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php/Wireless_connection"
linktext was:"http://www.mepis.org/docs/en/index.php/ ... connection"
====================================
" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false

You'll probably need to use ndiswrapper.

You will have to use Ndiswrapper. Please look at this thread on MepisLovers (ignoring the little tiff that comes up), where all the relevant resources are provided:

========= SCRAPER REMOVED AN EMBEDDED LINK HERE ===========
url was:"http://mepislovers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15259"
linktext was:"http://mepislovers.org/forums/showthread.php?t=15259"

" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false

The MEPIS Wiki is your basic resource here for Ndiswrapper--none of it is hard. Post back with any questions, I expect we can get you through it pretty easily.

I just need to find the right driver. The ones on the CD that come with the lappy don't work.

Good to hear, that's always such a relief when you've got a wireless setup.
