i have had antix already for some time on my main pc at home and it has worked seemlessly for many months but i have fitted on old compaq evo tower P4 2.0 ghz with 1 gig ram 40GIG HD and an ati 9550 agp video card with vga and composite out to my mothers old Pal widescreen crt tv via composite connection so she can use the internet.
Everything works except importantly internet access.
We are using on the three uk network a mobile wireless dongle as she will not use much and other than copy, paste and apply in terms of the likely pre dial out digits listed on the tips what else can or should i be doing to get it to work?

if i check information after its tries to connect it lists an error message to do with no dev not found on usb0 or similiar?

the dongle worked fine on the same machine running lubuntu 11.04

any help would be much appreciated.

the dongle seems to be a huwei 850 model with 128 meg micro sd card

lastly a small one the TV is widescreen yet the picture been displayed is 800x600 4:3, is there a way to make is 16:9 or even 16:10 and have a full browser display to save panning across all the time.

For the dongle, did you try UMT-Panel in Applications-Internet or in antiX control centre - Network ?

Also does inxi -F or inxi -N show up the device?

How do I connect a generic bluetooth usb dongle and a headset to yahoo messenger? I have windows xp service pk 3 . headset is motorola h15 the usb dongle .The h15 pairs with the USB bluetooth and widows indicates it working properly but I cannot get thing to work. Do I need some software . any suggestions ?
