Forgive me if this is not the correct sub-forum.
I have tried installing the antiX"net" minimal editions, and find them cumbersome.
antiX already uses one of the best installers IMHO for the"full" and"base" installations.
Why not make a"minimal" one using the regular installer? Just eliminate xorg and applications (keep the base ones) so the size of the cd is around 300-400 MB.
Reboot, apt-get update/dist-upgrade, and install what you want?
# apt-get install xorg firefox-esr <windomanager/desktop environment of choice> menu sudo localepurge ntpdate gpm nano etc
# reboot
Voilá!
I know nothing if this is possibe or the intrincacies this requires, but it works for Debian, Devuan, Arch and the BSDs.
Just an idea.

Gui installer needs xorg otherwise it will not run.
net and core versions use our cli-installer which is far from perfect, but it does get the job done.
User is then free to do whatever they wish, including not even using X (gui) and running everything console apps.
It is great fun to do this and turns very old laptops/desktops into a useful box ie running as a music player, torrent server etc
