What's going to happen when Debian shifts? When Lenny goes stable and sid move to testing? Should we adjust our sources.list to make sure your using sid/testing and not ????/unstable. The unstable branch is going to be pretty messy when this happens.

Does anyone know when Debian plans to make the shift? What will the new branch be called?

sid is always sid, packages always move from sid to testing, then once bugless, when the stable freeze comes, which it just did this week, into stable.

Not all packages make it into testing, due to various issues.

So: sid is sid, and each new stable is launched from the previous testing, in this case lenny, then a new testing name comes, I can't remember the new testing name.

So, if you always want your system to be unstable /sid, simply have in your apt-sources unstable or sid for debian. If you always want it to be testing, simply replace lenny with testing. And so on.

What will happen when kde 4.1 comes into sid, after lenny is gone stable, which should be in a few months since lenny was just frozen, is probably breaks, chaos, and then a settling process.

Keep the sources.list as they are if you want to keep antiX as a rolling release ie upgrading through stable and testing by default.
If you use sid/unstable, again leave the repos as it is (unstable is always sid).
For a while there shouldn't be any mess. The smxi script will help smooth out any transition. As antiX doesn't come with kde/gnome
then these huge changes will be avoided.

No idea what comes after Lenny.

Remember, antiX was developed to be as much of a rolling release as possible, ie once installed, to upgrade all you need to do is use apt/aptitude or synaptic (though I suggest not using synaptic for dist-upgrades). Now the smxi script makes it so much easier and offers a range of kernels too.
The antiX-upgrader script will take users from antiX-M7.2-M7.5, and it will upgrade Lysistrata M7.01-M7.5 with a bit of user input.
Since M7.5, with the great icewm and controlcentre by OU812, the base for future antiX is there. Changes since then will be minor and upgrading existing packages.

No need to ever install antiX again!
