Seamonkey's still being packaged / updated in the Mepis CRs

Code: Select all

$ apt-cache policy seamonkey
seamonkey:
  Installed: 2.33.1~mozillabinaries-1mcr120+1
  Candidate: 2.33.1~mozillabinaries-1mcr120+1
  Version table:
 *** 2.33.1~mozillabinaries-1mcr120+1 0
        500 http://main.mepis-deb.org/mepiscr/repo/ mepis12cr/main i386 Packages
        500 http://main.mepis-deb.org/mepiscr/testrepo/ mepis12cr/test i386 Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
What I posted above is from my MX-14 install, but I think the Mepis/MX CRs are included in the antiX-15 sources, but disabled by default. (yep, in the /etc/apt/sources.list.d/mx.list file)

You can also directly download the Seamonkey .deb package from here:

Follow kmathern's advice to download the deb from mepis repo.
Then run spacefm file manager & browse to your Downloads directory, and right-click the deb file & OpenWith gdebi.
gdebi will automagically extract/install (or will report any installation problems/roadbolocks).
After installing, you might need to right-click your desktop menu and run"Update Menu".

Thanks Everyone!!
Seamonkey has extracted and installed; but the only way that I can launch it is to click on" seamonkey" within the file folder.

Oops, I lost the" files icon" on the desktop; the files are there but the desktop icon is gone!! Is there a way to put it back?? Thanks!!

Well that did not turn out well; had to re-install.

Thanks everyone for your gracious help!!

Well my brief time with Antix 15 on my computer I have learned that things from previous versions mess it up. In my first install I opted to keep my Antix 13 stuff and the install was really a mess where the menu was all messed up. Installing and trying to use seamonkey completely changed my desktop to what must have been an earlied Antix. From now on I'm going to leave it be!!

Most certainly!
Probably should have removed the option to keep the home config from the installer.... there have been far to many changes made through 13.5 - 15, but all that was really released as a final was 15.

By far your best option is to start afresh with 15.
