I have a Wyse V90L thin client which has a 800 MHz VIA Eden CPU and 1 GB 533 MHz DDR2 RAM (less 32 GB for graphics). I'm not interested in general web browsing but I will need to use a few websites and forums in the process of setting up the system and it would be nice to be able to do this on the system itself. Firefox displays the antiX forum correctly but loading pages is extremely slow whilst Dillo is very fast but formats pages very incorrectly. Is there some compromise?

you could try xombrero or qupzilla. youll probably want to try it with javascript turned off.
even on ff ive found that running noscript makes a lot of pages a lot faster (with reduced functionality, but usually the ability to post to forums) and yesscript is even less likely to require a lot of fiddling, but is kind of like hitting"turbo" on a site that has too much (unnecessary) js running.

Thanks, Qupzilla seems to be the best compromise. I switched off Netscape plugins, JavaScript and Java in hope of optimising performance. It's still a lot slower than Dillo but more usable overall.
