I'm about to change my eeebuntu to Antix M8, but is there any webcam software with AntixM8?

There is. Look in the menu under images, web cam. The bad news is that it hasn't worked for me. I tried cheese and that worked fine for a while. However, after doing an update, now I'm getting a segmentation fault and it's not working.

I would be interested in finding out how either of the two apps work for you.

I wish I had time to just test all the possibilities __{{emoticon}}__ .. my wife just gave a birth, and my time is quite limited..

If the app with antiX doesn't work well enough for you, you could install and try gtkam.
It is in synaptic.
