A good piece - unfortunately I couldn't get the image to run with the sound but I managed to get brief flashes. It's heading the same way all over I guess. The EU wants (is going) to cap bankers bonuses but our Chancellor of the Exchequer, George Osborne, is against it - thinks it unfair or something.

"The European Parliament agreed last week that bonuses should be capped at a year's basic salary, and the Irish government said today that these plans were likely to be approved by EU finance ministers meeting in Brussels (Ireland holds the presidency of the EU at the moment).

"But speaking in the Belgian capital, Mr Osborne said he could not back the changes."I cannot support the compromise that is on the table," he said."

But he appears to be on his own. The report continues:

"The chancellor did not win the backing of any other minister at the meeting"

I have absolutely no illusions in the EU doing any such thing to cut the wealth of the rich. The EU has always been a club of bosses in Europe.

Here in Greece we hear all sorts of rhetoric from the EU (and IMF) that they will make the rich tax dodgers pay for the plight of the millions here. In a word it is bollox!

A group of millionaires will always support another group of millionaires against the masses.

It is gonna get worse instead of better
