topic title: Warnings at boottime about config files after upgrade

With the upgrade of module-init-tools in latest dist-upgrade for 32-bit we get a whole lot of warning messages when booting. They look like

WARNING: All config files need .conf: /etc/modprobe.d/aliases, it will be ignored in a future release.
and are repeated about 5 times.
Though being anoying, they do no harm.

thanks for the infor Anti. I noticed them last night after I upgraded. In my case the messages are about 20 or so lines and they are repeated 2x (maybe 3x; I can't remember). System seems to boot ok though.
