I have antix installed on a usb drive.

I've been trying to get virtual box in a windows host to boot the usb device with antix.

I can get it to see grub, but it fails to load, dropping me to a limited shell with, a"can't find antix file system" error.

Attached is a screenshot.

Anyone have an idea what could be going wrong? Is the UUID that grub is using in the menulist somehow bad? I'm stuck.

That happens when booting from a USB 1.x port too. I don't know the reason or the fix (would like to) but the other day I was having a look at the linuxrc file (which is a file inside the compressed initrd.gz) and I saw some things that could be related, like a sleep time to give time for slow devices to digest the info from the live environment which maybe (wild guess) could be not enough for specially slow devices.
I think BitJam (forum member) is the one who wrote that or adapted to antiX but I didn't contact him yet.

Try rootdelay=10 at grub boot.

Tried rootdelay=10 and 15, still a no go.

Found a pci usb 2.0 card on ebay for 4 bucks.

Try again in a couple weeks when it gets here.
