Hello:

I discovered vifm, a very light and fast file manager that is based on vim. I have been playing with it and I'm very happy, but I'm also very happy with vim so I'm quite used to the key bindings.

It's very flexible (using a vifmrc file) and it seems to play well with awesome (tiling window manager that I've also been playing with). Maybe I'll post a picture of the desktop later.

Anyway, I'm very happy with vifm so far and just wanted to let the rest of you know (in case you didnt know already or there might be other vim addicts out there).

Regards,

Pedro

I found a similar file manager (cli based; vim-like) that actuallly runs better than vifm. At least it found all my file associations out of the box so that I did not have to spend much time configuring it. Seems to run pretty well. Again, very clean, very fast.
