I've just finished installing Antix-11 on two older laptops, and an old desktop machine. I'm super impressed with this distro: the install was flawless, the apt-get update & dist-upgrade was smooth, and I was able to get wifi running with no problems. The oldest laptop, a P-II with 512 mb ram, now runs like a new colt in a spring pasture.
(This delights me: I'm a linux newbie. I'm 70. This msg post is via Antix11 on the P-III desktop machine using Iceweasel.)
HOWEVER -- my FAT-32 USB thumb drives were not recognized in any of the three machines.
Research in this forum led to my re-naming the 99.usbstorage.rules file in /etc/udev/rules.d directory; that solved the mount problem nicely.
UNMOUNT is a headache. I must use the Antix CC"Mountbox" app (Antix Control Center - disks - mount connected devices; then click"list" to confirm the device is sdb1; type sdb1 in the device box, and then refer to the Nautilus or Rox Filer listing to get the correct device label to type in the"mount point" box .. then click"unmount" ... and that works.
Trying to unmount the usb device in Nautilus or Rox Filer brings up this message:
"unmount: /media/(dev label) is not in the fstab (and you are not root)".
Also, clicking on the usb drive listing in Thunar causes an instant Thunar crash.
Oh ... none of the three machines will restart or shut down without a power button nudge after logging out; or by opening a term window as SU and typing"halt" ... this glitch developed after the dist-upgrade.
Are these glitches normal? Or has something gotten messed up with my install/upgrade (via apt-get) & mass software installation?

Firstly, a welcome to antiX Graybyrd.
The second issue is probably related to your sudoers file in /etc/ getting upgraded.
See here:

Unmounting is probably because your usb stick thinks it is owned by root. You could reformat it or if you want to leave it as it is, use rox filer as root to unmount the folder/device. Also check that rox-filer is using pumount rather than umount in (Right click in a space in rox-filer) Options->Action windows.
