Upgrade gnome-keyring slows desktop when opening apps via gksu and apps take ages to open (or in antiXcontrol centre that need root access eg synaptic).
Solution remove gcr (it will also take gnome-keyring with it) until bug is fixed.

I'm a Fedora user now and I use

for that gksu task.
Very minimal app.

great find sergio. if anyone has the latest version for debian please share. i tried to compile it but got stuck at gtk+2 not found. i like this because it also works with sudo and rox-filer. that means i don't have to worry about someone using rox-filer as root without my permission.

You would need the libgtk2-dev (or whatever it's named).
But it might be interesting to have a deb in the antiX repo.

thanks sergio, that was missing. i just remembered why i hate compiling so much, 67 packages to compile a small program. __{{emoticon}}__ will play with it and post if i have any troubles.
edit: synaptic wouldn't start, but i solved it with ktsuss /usr/sbin/synaptic

That's why a deb is convenient.
But some basic development packages is ok to have as most simple things one needs to compile will use them.
I for instance had to have them (not 67, but Fedora doesn't split packages so much) to compile thunar-dropbox so when I built ktsuss I didn't need to install anything else.

I have the various dev packages installed as I compile my own WINE.
A deb for ktsuss can be found
