i ahve trashed 5 cds untill now, I have checked the box left to the drive and also the other ones from k3b permissions, as root. I tried auto and tao writing mode. At 5% it stops and gives an error, unspecified.

How to bypass this crap ?

More info needed.
Are you trying to write a .iso file?
Did you create the .iso file?
Is it a downloaded .iso file?
Did you check its integrity (md5sum)?

yes no yes yes

it said something about permissions, in k3b so I opened as root and set them

then in brasero gaved scsi error, wrong medium, though it was good medium and nothing wrong with writer

and xfburn just said error, stop ejecting media

in all cases, it stopped at 5%

But I can burn isos using xfburn or the plugin I used to burn isos in SpaceFM all day on this POS on cd myself. I am using cdrw disks though.

IG Burn Tools - Allows SpaceFM to be used as a simple GUI burning app. While it can be used as-is, it also allows you to customize burn commands and add additional functionality. Screenshots
