I have an old desktop computer with an AMD K6 processor, and when I tried to boot from the AntiX Mepis 8 Cd, I get the message: This kernel requires the following features not present on the CPUI: cmov
Unable to boot - Please use a kernel appropriate for your CPU.
What is feature is missing? Or what does cmov do? What kernel am I supposed to use? Both DSL 4.4.10 and Puppy 4.1.2 are able to load and seem to work. Can anyone answer this?

The latest versions of antiX use a 686 kernel which means that K5/K6 processors are not supported, sorry.

The first release of antiX (Spartacus antiX-M6.5) will boot on k5/k6 processors, but it is old.

Some time in the future I hope antiX will come with a kernel that supports those processors.

Meaning?

This is clear from the release announcement.
antiX-M7-M8 will not run (yet) on older processors such as Pentium I (it seems that PII is ok, but PII MMX may not boot), AMD K5, and AMD K6 as it uses an up to date i686 kernel. antiX-Spartacus should.

and
AntiX is designed to work on computers with as little as 64 MB RAM and Pentium II or equivalent AMD processors, but not K5/K6 processors. 128 MB RAM is recommended minimum.
