I have made a dist-upgrade today and all is ok, sysvinit was removed, welcome systemd __{{emoticon}}__
It seems all work well.

Does that mean you have antiX running with the 3.12-5.dmz.2-liquorix-686 kernel and xorg 1.15.1?

Do you have a mem readout from it?

Yes and memory readout is included in inxi report at the bottom . That memory is with Firefox and a Termnal running in Fluxbox.

Ok. This Bilingual, (I can speak dirty Tex/Mex) Desert tramp Biker is gonna interpet (nessuno)=(none)

Only difference is that I have hal installed still cuz the boot kernel error messages don't scare me none.

We both have that left behind as installed so I guess system.d did not take it. It seems to me system.d did not make it/install into our dist-upgrades yet either unless we say OK and do it manually. At least that is this uneducated boys guess anyhows.

That was why I wanted to compare our 2 installs.

I make a dist-upgrade now and all is ok, this old laptop seems more fast, maybe is only a suggestion __{{emoticon}}__

I apologize for asking what might seem a dumb question, but is systemd actually a"good" thing?

I have been trying to avoid it because I seem to have less available memory, and because I can't seem to find any trail of breadcrumbs as to how or why things are loaded, work or don't.

Obviously, I'm not capable of a good discussion on the pros/cons and to be honest, don't understand it, so all I know is what I was able to find. It seems like a religious argument to some folks, LOL.

Some Slackware purists and Debian purists I know and befriend on other forums hate system.d. They are more into the nuts and bolts of Gnu/Linux than I am

My unedjucated guess is because like grub2. It is a bunch of scripts to run a bunch of scripts which makes it harder for the user to edit their systems. Hence the luv hate relationship. Some people luv grub2 and Unity and Gnome Shell.

A lot of old linux users say it takes control away from the user and use Lilo, and KDE or XFCE instead.

To be honest the debate is too deep for me and outa my league. Most of the crap flies over my head like a sonic boom.

In my personal outlook. I may hate it. Even put my panties in a wad. But. Semper Gumby. Always be flexible. Adapt or Die.

So I'll wait and see what ever when the dust settles. Whining and Bitching is something I don't wear well and is not in my
nature. I am a doer. Not a complainer or a afeared worrier. I take life as it comes.

If I don't like it. There is MenuetOS, Bell Plan 9, BSD, KolibriOS, the list goes on. So instead of whining and bitching.
I'll change or accept things as they are. Complaining never fixes anything and makes one tired from wasted energy.
Thowing wrenches across the motorcycle shop and cussing has yet to fix a motorcycle for anyone I know so I do not do
it. I pop a beer and contemplate the problem and hope a solution pops up in my head instead. Seems to work better than a hissy fit.
